I didn't send it...

It was one of those days
itchy, horny, restless,
needful..

I wanted a audience
just one adoring fan
a witness to my pleasure
unhidden
unashamed
a watcher
someone who wouldn't tunr a way
or wrinkle up their nose
or tell me to get get over it.

Not a stranger
I'm too average for chat roullette or cam frog
or random off-getting.
i wanted a friend

I ask too much of my friends, I know
I make requests too late in the evening
i respond after the phone has been silenced
or when the mood is gone or the tide is red
or when they are at work in the middle of a spreadsheet
with no energy
time
privacy
or interest to pull away to watch
my gruesome display

So i pulled out my phone
and hit record
and started
body just outside of the frame,
i waited, aimed, and taped
there was so much of it
opalescent, spilled, wasted, enjoyed
and I hit stop

but I couldn't send it
so much is lost in the context
a shared moment of passion morphs
twists
decays
as it ages and slinks through the interweb and in to her in-box
it becomes... something else

suddenly if feels wrong
but my thumb hovers
undecided
conflicted
but ultimately cowardly

and it is gone.
and i vanish
for one more day.

Haunted by Poe

This song was given to me some time ago by a very dear friend, and I really like it. I only just bought the rest of the album last night, and I'm in the process of listening to it. So far it's quite good. This musician is the sister of the guy who wrote House of Leaves, if any of you have heard of that. It's kind of an insane book, with some pages only having one or two words and others where the type is in spirals or vertical instead of horizontal. Extremely creative, though.

Example from the book.
Anyway, here are the lyrics to Haunted by Poe:

Haunted

Ba da pa pa ba da pa pa...
Come here
Pretty please
Can you tell me where I am
You won't you say something
I need to get my bearings
I'm lost
And the shadows keep on changing

And I'm haunted
By the lives that I have loved
And actions I have hated
I'm haunted
By the lives that wove the web
Inside my haunted head

Ba da pa pa ba da pa pa...

Don't cry,
There's always a way
Here in November in this house of leaves
We'll pray
Please, I know it's hard to believe
To see a perfect forest
Through so many splintered trees
You and me
And these shadows keep on changing

And I'm haunted
By the lives that I have loved
And actions I have hated
I'm haunted
By the promises I've made
And others I have broken
I'm haunted
By the lives that wove the web
Inside my haunted head

Hallways... always

I'll always love you
I'll always need you
I'll always want you

And I will always miss you

Ba da pa pa ba da pa pa...

Come here
No I won't say please
One more look at the ghost
Before I'm gonna make it leave
Come here
I've got the pieces here
Time to gather up the splinters
Build a casket for my tears

I'm haunted
(By the lives that I have loved)
I'm haunted
(By the promises I've made)
I'm haunted
By the hallways in this tiny room
The echos there of me and you
The voices that are carrying this tune

Ba da pa pa...

Father :
What is it Annie?

Daughter :
You think I'll cry? I won't cry!
My heart will break before I cry!
I will go mad.

I wish I could add music to my book of inspiration, but it would have to be digital to do that, and I prefer physical book form. Oh well. I can at least add the lyrics.  Here is the song, courtesy of someone who uploaded it to Youtube (not the official video, since there isn't one, just some visuals the uploader put together):

I FEEL POWERFUL!

That's what she said as I came all over my kitchen table.  I couldn't' agree more.

It had been too long, and she was too beautiful to do anything else.

She has great powers.......

On a different note, I am AMAZED at those more creative than me.
I LOVE THIS

And now I'm off to the dentist.

Bad Lip Reading: The Hunger Games

I loved the first one of these I saw, with Twilight. I haven't ever actually seen any of the Twilight movies, but I laughed myself sick anyway. This one is done with footage from The Hunger Games, and I think it's even better for having seen the movie. Enjoy!

An mp3 of this file is available here at Dropbox. Right click that link and save it to your desktop.

1000 cranes

We. Are. Finished.

FINALLY.

I made a video for you, so you get to hear me talk, but you don't get to see me because my hair looks terrible and I'm never very camera-ready after a night of bad dreams.

The Great Crane Thief Plays With Her Loot

It dawned on me last night as I was watching Monkey with her purloined crane that my phone can actually take videos now, so here you go. She's gotten really sneaky about it. She pretends to be all loving and cuddly, so she'll come sit between your arms and purr until you are put off your guard. Then she goes in for the theft!

Calling to the Night

I'm not sure if any of you have heard this before, but if you haven't, you might like it. It's actually from a video game, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, but it's beautiful and haunting. It's sung by Natasha Farrow, and I'm not sure what else she's done. I was introduced to it by one of my best friends, and I still love it. I was listening to it earlier today, and I thought y'all might like to try it out. The video is apparently an animation that comes with the game (I've never actually played MGS), but feel free to ignore it if it's not your thing. I'm putting the lyrics below the video so you can follow along if you want to.

Hopefully you can read this. It's a bit brown.
I hope you like it! I'd love to sing this sometime, but I wish I could find an instrumental-only version without the vocals, as I'm not sure how to remove them without having the master track. I guess I could just sing along with her...

P.S. Never mind. I found one. Now I just have to learn how to convert it into an audio file from a video.

Partron of the Arts

Work is slowing down. Today I had my meeting with HR where the told me about my severance package and gave me some paper's to sign. I'm starting to schedule my last round of lunches with friends and i said goodbye to the owner of my favorite burger place.  As work shifts to transitional work instead of new work, i find my mind wandering.  And that is a dangerous thing to do....

These are all pretty tame since I'm on the company network, now, if I unplug after lunch and get on the outside network....

As a man who enjoys beautiful women and painting, here's a bit that combines them both...
Would you do this for a special occasion?

While I was surprised to see YouTube allowing nude models, I love the background of this class. The students are using full sized chalkboards for working. What a great idea. How many times do you feel restricted by small 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper when trying to draw a beautiful naked woman?

This ad was just strange, until I realized it was perfect for all of my friends who are in to just this kind of thing, and I think that includes most of you.

Twilight for Guys - An awesome movie experience

Down on the farm...

I didn't grow up on a farm, but my best friend up the road lived on one, can I can promise you that his sister never looked like this.

Rainy day...

OK, it's a quiet day on my end of the street.  It's raining outside and will continue to do so for the rest of the day.  My two meetings cancelled for the day so I've been productively working on my audits, some documentation, a few reports, and all around being a good citizen.

I'm also a bit subdued over a conversation I had with a friend yesterday.  I'm still processing it, surely making a mountain over a mole-hill, or turning "ants into elephants" (a new phrase I heard on the radio last night, and I love it.), but still, the things she shared put me in a bit of a funk.  Also, a different friend hasn't said hello for a while so Tame's post hit home today.

Maybe it's just the rain, the early morning arrival at work (the days are getting shorter, I hate that part of the fall), or the feeling of being in a day of hushed tones....  I'm not sure, but this video made me smile.

and this one made me say, "OH SHIT!  That's cool!"

I'm sure the day will pick up.  I have a yummy salad for lunch, and what day can stay bad with a yummy salad in it's future?

(and sorry about the links, i tried to imbed them but neither one worked....)

Made me snort

Maybe this is only funny because I've been eating lunch and watching Jon Stewart during lunch, but if this one-liner doesn't make you laugh, you need to get out more..
