So accordingly, we are going to mow the lawn. Wheee! We must be old.
But anyway, after that we'll shoot some arrows and maybe go on a short hike through some woods around here. I spent nearly four hours yesterday yanking weeds out of the lawn, so at least I don't have that to do today. Word to the wise: apparently lupine puts down horrible deep roots. If you wait until it's really entrenched to try to get rid of it, you'll need a shovel. I did.
Patrick is done with gigs for a little while! I am so happy about that. The extra money is nice, but it doesn't make up for him being gone. Having him home with me now in the evenings is such a refreshing change. It's like mini-vacations every night! haha I love it.
I don't know if any of you Hunger Games girls have checked out the sort of tie-in soundtrack that went along with the movie (Songs From District 12 And Beyond), but I really like several of the tracks on it, particularly Abraham's Daughter by Arcade Fire that plays when the credits roll at the end of the movie. Give it a go, maybe. There are many different kinds of music on it, so you might find at least one thing that suits you.
I hope my jacket shows up in time for me to wear it to my friend's Easter brunch. What's a brunch attendance without a killer outfit? Just delicious food without sartorial magic, that's what.
In closing, I would just like to say that I really hate those animal charity ads that show up on the sides of webpages. They show pictures of sad-eyed dogs and cats, featuring captions like, "Would you abandon her in the cold?" AAAAAAAUGH! These things make me feel like a jerk for not opening an animal sanctuary and adopting ALL the animals.
Listen up, ad people: I've adopted four cats so far in my lifetime and sponsored a dog I couldn't take because I didn't have a yard. Don't make me feel like an asshole for not taking in way more pets than I can reasonably care for. There's a word for that, and it's HOARDING.
Thank you, that will be all.
