We're recording a Buffy song. AWESOME.

We've spent hours today recording stuff for this track, Going Through The Motions from the Buffy musical episode, and it's RAD. We might do some others, too.

This is seriously fun, y'all.

It definitely doesn't sound like my best work, since 1) it's in a really low range for me and 2) I'm trying to make it mostly sound like it did when Sarah Michelle Gellar sang it in the show, so no big opera sounds. Patrick sang parts for vampires, a demon and a guy who needed rescuing. It's SO campy and delightful! hahaha It does not get old listening to him do this.

He's become a total perfectionist about these things, which I find endearing, so he's busily recording trombone parts to go in the piece, along with all the violins, triangle, tympani, etc. that he already added. The man is amazing.

Like I say, it won't be some fantastic piece of vocal magnificence, but it IS fun. I hope you guys like it when we're done. Probably later this weekend sometime. As before you, you know the drill. Email me if you want a copy: lifebloom at gmail dot com. (Or let me know in the comments, but make sure I have your email!)

Edit: I should mention that I got this idea from my friend Autumn, who wants to perform this for her vocal class, where she will sound infinitely better than I. Her voice is far closer to SMG's than mine is, and she will be amazing! Plus she'll have more than one backup vampire, hah. Poor Patrick.

Below is the song we're doing. Enjoy! Mwah!
