Running for the bus

The days are getting shorter and the early bus is dark and quiet. 

Your text told me you'd be in the center section and that you'd save me a seat.

As I ran up to the stop the bus was pulling off and I saw you laughing at me through the window. I rapped my knuckles on the thin metal panel that covered the engine but the driver chose not to hear me and didn't stop.

As the bus rounded the corner I saw you waving with your small red panties in your hand, delicately wrapped around your wrist.

My phone vibrated in my pocket moments later.

"Maybe this will teach you not to be late next time."
